I get this question a lot. It is important to send your printer Vector art if you want the image scaled to different sizes. Vector graphics allow you to be creative and build high-quality design elements. The graphics are made up of points, lines, curves, and shapes. When you scale a Vector image, there is no loss of quality in your image, large or small. By contrast, raster art is created by using colorized pixels. When you enlarge raster art, you are essentially doing the same thing as blowing it up on a copier, and we've all seen how that looks. You can supply a jpg or png that is high resolution, but when you enlarge it, you are stretching those pixels, and it may not stay high enough resolution for quality printing. Any art made with vector illustration software like Adobe Illustrator is considered vector art.
